Centenary walk at Arlington Court, Arlington Court

This circular walk of just under three miles explores the wooded estate surrounding Arlington Court in north Devon, following a route that celebrates the property's long history in the care of its custodians. Starting and finishing at Arlington itself, the path winds down through parkland and mature woodland into the valley of the River Yeo.

From the river, the route crosses Tucker's Bridge before climbing gently back through the estate grounds, passing the tranquil Wilderness Pond where reflections of overhanging trees make for a peaceful pause. Expect a mix of estate tracks, woodland paths and pasture underfoot, with steady undulations adding up to a respectable amount of ascent for the distance.

At around an hour and a half of walking, this is a rewarding loop for a half-day visit, combining river scenery, quiet woodland and open estate views before returning you to your starting point at Arlington.
