About this walk

Starting and finishing at Cylch-y-Garn on Anglesey's quiet north coast, this easy circular walk of just over four kilometres links farmland, coast and a scattering of historic buildings. From the lane the route heads out towards Hen Felin before dropping down to the sheltered cove of Hen Borth, where low cliffs and rocky foreshore give wide views across the Irish Sea.

The path then swings inland to reach St Rhwydru's Church at Llanrhwydrys, a small and remote place of worship tucked into the fields. From here it is a short return over gentle rises back to the start, with only around 75 metres of ascent across the whole loop.

Nearby you can extend the outing to take in Cemlyn Bay and Cemlyn Lagoon, one of the most important seabird sites in Wales, as well as the approximate site of a Roman fortlet marked on maps above the bay. Allow about an hour for the circular itself, or longer if you plan to linger on the shingle.
