Captain Geoffrey's Woodland Walk, Dudmaston Estate

This linear ramble through the Dudmaston Estate in south Shropshire begins at Quatt Malvern, tracing quiet woodland and parkland tracks across a gently rolling corner of the county. The route heads past The Unicorn and on toward River and Rail, where the landscape opens up above the Severn Valley, before dropping through mixed woodland to St Andrew's.

From here the path threads between two of the estate's characterful waters, Wall Pool and Brim Pool, both sheltered by tall trees and popular with waterfowl. There are glimpses of Dudmaston Big Pool and the shady stretches of Long Covert along the way, and keen walkers can extend their day toward the Walled Garden or the little narrow-gauge Paddock Railway. Hampton Loade lies within easy reach on the River Severn for those combining the walk with a heritage rail visit.

The going is moderate, with around 185 metres of ascent spread across the 9.5 km route, and most walkers complete it in about two and a half hours before returning to the finish at Quatt Malvern.
