Bradenham Countryside Trail, Bradenham

The Bradenham Countryside Trail is a compact but characterful circular walk through classic Chiltern scenery, tracing a 4 km loop out of the village of Bradenham. With just over 200 metres of ascent packed into the route, it earns its moderate grade through steady climbs rather than sustained effort, and rewards the work with wide views across wooded Buckinghamshire hillsides.

From the village green the trail heads up into Park Wood, a peaceful stretch of beech and mixed woodland typical of the Chilterns. Paths wind beneath tall canopies before opening onto grassy slopes that carry you round to the midway point back at Bradenham itself, where the flint-and-brick cottages and church cluster around the green in quintessential English fashion.

The second half of the loop gently returns you to the start, with plenty of chance to slow the pace and enjoy the folds of the surrounding countryside. Time it right and you can round off the walk with a coffee and cake at the nearby Pony Espresso, an easy reward for a morning well spent on the hills.
