About this walk
This gentle linear walk in the Warwickshire countryside links a string of quiet hamlets and waterways near the historic Baddesley Clinton estate. Setting out from Tom O' The Wood, the route heads through Rowington Green and past the parish church of St Laurence, where lanes and field paths open onto classic Midlands farmland scenery.
From Turner's Green the walk drops down to meet the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal, a peaceful ribbon of water threading through woodland and pasture. The towpath makes for easy, level walking, with narrowboats gliding by and glimpses of the surrounding countryside between hedgerows. The Navigation Inn provides a welcome finishing point beside the water.
With only modest ascent spread over three and a half miles, this is a relaxed half-morning outing rather than a strenuous hike. Nearby, the Grand Union Canal, Dick's Lane Wharf and Rowington Coppice offer further wandering for those keen to extend the day among the waterways and woods of central Warwickshire.
