About this walk

This 9.1 km circular route offers a rewarding sweep through the southern reaches of Clumber Park, one of Nottinghamshire's best-loved country estates. Starting and finishing at Clumber and Hardwick, the walk winds through the Pinetum and Pleasure Grounds before drawing you deeper into the estate's mosaic of woodland and water.

From the Pleasure Grounds the path climbs gently into Ash Tree Hill Wood, then descends towards Hardwick and the reedy fringes of Clumber Wetland, a peaceful spot for spotting waterbirds. The return leg threads through Cabinhill Wood and Aviary Wood, where mature trees frame the quieter corners of the park away from the busier central rides.

Along the way you can look out for local landmarks including Andy's Gray Corner, Little Oak Square, Icehouse Clump, Leaping Bar and Thorney Hills. With 169 m of gentle ascent spread over the loop, this is a moderate outing that takes around 2 hours 15 minutes at a steady pace, giving plenty of time to enjoy the changing scenery of woodland, wetland and open parkland.
