Family Day for Young People who Stammer, University of Northampton

Fri, 21 August 2026 ยท Northampton

About this event

We know how life-changing it can be for children and families to meet other people who stammer. As part of STAMMAFest 2026, we have created an event for children who stammer, their parents and siblings. Our Family Day aims to get kids and their families excited about stammering and seeing themselves as part of an exciting community!

This August, bring the whole family for a day full of laughter, excitement and unforgettable memories. In the morning, children will get to meet other kids who stammer their own age and be in a space where stammering is the norm whilst they practice their circus and sports skills.

Four our older children, join Scroobius Pip to learn some interview/podcasting skills and practice them on our special guest (you might recognize them as someone from The Traitorsโ€ฆ)! Parents and guardians will get to meet adults who stammer and network with other parents in the same position. We will also have a panel of adults who stammer sharing their experiences with stammering including the mayor of York and North Yorkshire!
After lunch, join the rest of our conference for a range of fun family-friendly workshops. Thereโ€™s something for everyone including sessions on dance, poetry and music.

Tickets cost just ยฃ12.50 per adult, ยฃ7.50 per child with lunch and refreshments included.
